If you're asking what I think you're asking..... Helen is the very first person to show Jane sympathy and she is the first person Jane really makes a connection with. Mr. brockelhurst however, is much like Mrs. Reed and has "followed" her to Lowood. It kind of shows that wherever Jane goes there seems to be some misfortune or some negative things that come her way. It seems that she can never quite blend in but is always an outcast. So while Helen is the friend she needs Mr. brockelhurst is the opposite of sympathetic and forgiving.
I think Helen being Jane's friend is the best thing that could happen to Jane because they are both miserable but when they are together they feel safe or accepted. Unlike when Mr.Brocklehurst is around Jane because he is cruel, evil and unfair. Basically only cares about himself and his luxury is a dictator of the school seems to quite manipulating when it comes to the kids
