24-30: These Boots are Made for Walkin'...

A two part question:

Discuss Bronte's use of language as she describes Jane's behavior in the aftermath of the wedding day revelation:
Jane in her room
Reaction to Rochester's confession
Jane's Leaving

Do you think Jane made the right decision of leaving Thornfield & Rochester, even though she is leaving everything that she has ever wanted?

  1. I believed that Jane chose the wrong decision to leave Thornfield. Ever since Jane have arrived to Thornfield there had always been signs of something mysterious occurring at Thornfield and Mr. Rochester himself. Since we have clearly seen Jane been given all of these signs within the novel, she would have already had an idea of Thornfield's and Mr. Rochester's past. Therefore Jane's reactions to the situation which made her leave was her just over-reacting.

  3. I feel that Jane made the wrong decision by leaving Thornfield and Rochester. It was her first place that she could consider a home and she had finally found someone who actually loved and cared for her. By leaving Thornfield she left a part of her behind. Even though she would have to stay in the house as a governess, Jane has too much pride to have stay at the house with Rochester.
